Mommy's biggest Valentine's Day surprise :)

Every year, Daddy and Mommy would take turns to plan for Valentine's day.

This year, Mommy told Daddy that she would make plans for the big day and asked Daddy to make himself free.

As usual, Daddy would be curious and bugged Mommy for clues and Mommy made up little white lies about planning to do a tattoo together on Valentines day of Little Miss Gwenneth Tan's initial.

Well, they are still deciding on it anyway.

Mommy booked a flight early January to surprise Daddy for a trip to Hong Kong and Macau so that they could play Texas Holdem there.

They would fly to Hong Kong on Valentine's Day morning and return 4 days later.

Mommy roped in Godpapa Ryan so that he could arrange their monthly Jakarta trip away from these dates.

Initially, Mommy wanted to only reveal the surprise on the 13th, but Godpapa warned Mommy against it. Mommy had to check Daddy's Blackberry everyday to make sure that he didnt have meetings on any of the dates.

Eventually, Mommy decided to let Daddy know about the surprise on the 15th of the Chinese new year, Yuan Xiao Jie, which was also known as the chinese valentine's day. Just in case Daddy had work!!!

Daddy was very surprised as he was clueless about it!

Daddy shook his head at Mommy's ability to cover a BIG LIE.

Mommy made special effort to plan the trip by asking her Hongkie friend for local food hunt, and the best beef steamboat around for Valentine's day dinner.

Yiyi Gerene also offered to make special bookings at The Venetian hotel for Daddy's and Mommy's romantic getaway.

Gwen Gwen : "Happy Valentine's Day Papa and Mama!!! I love you!!!"

Mommy loved the room!!! and pretended that she was in Venice, and the rooms were this clean and nice... and have LIFTS!

Mommy bought many many things for me... Mostly clothes and long sleeve outfits that i would be wearing for a chilly Australia weather in March. Its not exactly cold lah..but Ive not been exposed to the cold much and Mommy wanted to be sure that I would be in warm cosy clothings.
Yes, we are going Australia to visit Uncle Alvin!
Gong Gong and Por Por took me to the airport to pick Daddy and Mommy. I recognised the 2 familiar faces right away and my face glowed with a big smile. I also leaned forward and threw my open arms to Daddy and Mommy for a hug i missed for the past 4 days!
Im soooo gonna sleep between Daddy and Mommy tonight!!!

When Mommy is back, she spends a whole lot of quality time with me while Daddy went back to work immediately to finish off the piled up work at his desk.

Mommy took me on a ride on the luggage.

Mommy wore matching short as the suitcase.

we rode up and down the walk way at home and went "choo!! choo!!"
Mommy would also make reverse sensor's periodic beepings as we go backwards.
"Beeee Beee Beee Beee Beee...."

Mommy in a very unglam pose.

Excuse me!!! Please give way to us!!! choo choo!!!

I miss my Mommy :)

8 months

You know, Mommy is very busy with me at home.

Especially the the fact that im a lot more active since the day i realised that i could alternate my left knee with my right arm and right knee with the left arm and be able to move forward.i could crawl!

On Feburary the 4th, Mommy noticed i could synchronise my knees and arms and she shook my dad violently to look at what i can do. i did a little wiggle and they both sang praises of me NON-STOP as if i could do a double backflip.

Merely 4 days later, i could crawl about 3-4 steps before my arms gave way and i fall on my bouncy cushioned pui pui tummy.

Mommy was absolutely proud of me.

My dad didnt just stop at praising.

He did a live-demo.

He got on his fours on the bed and did a "how to crawl" demonstration.

Daddy : "Gwenneth! Gwenneth!! See See!!! Like this.... you put your hand here.... (he positioned my hands forward and hurried back to pose just the same way) then you tuck your knees forwards...like this... come Gwenneth, move your knees like this?? Yess.... Clever girl!!"

He repeated it a few times to make sure i got it before picking me up and raised me up on the air by my armpits and give big smooches on my cheeks.

Then, another 2 days, i could move from lying on my front to a sitting position. now, i could change from lying on my back, flip and lie on my front, push my arms up and tuck my knees to my tummy and finally rest my bum on the floor and position my legs comfortably ot a sitting position in a matter of seconds!

I can climb over a mountain of pillows and they no longer work as a barrier on my Mommy's bed which was tailored made to be at the hip level of a standing adult.

My dad's sony laptop almost didnt survive the "great" fall from the bed.

Hence, Mommy no longer allow me to be on the bed if either of them woke up earlier and one side of the bed is vacant. (pillow walls dont work, remember?)

I can also raise myself to a kneeing down position by hanging on to the rails of the cot.

its a matter of days that i would master new techniques to allow myself to stand by the rails and have a better view of the room when i wake up from my nap. it would be fun to shock my Mom who happen to walk pass my room and i shall give her a naughty and cheeky chuckle, while she gasp for her breath in fright!

Here is the result of my Daddy's private crawling boot camp training at home!

Daddy said I passed with flying colours!

At 8 months. Im already all done with the immunisation that was required.

Dr Yip asked if Daddy and Mommy would like me to take the influenza jab as it was optional.

Mommy and Daddy was all for it so long it keeps me healthy and strong.

So i was scheduled for my first of the 2 dosages of the influenza jab at 8 months old.

Dr Yip checked my heartbeat as my Mommy went on asking a lot of questions if I can start taking cheese, if porridge is better than cereal, if my milk intake should increase etc

"Dr Yip, please pardon my naggy Mommy. She loves me."

Daddy helping the nurse to take my height. Its no longer an easy task as I like to wriggle and crawl.

Im 72cm tall

"Daddy... I wanna sit up!!!"

Taking my weight was very very very difficult too!
I dont like to lie down anymore. I want to sit up! sit up! sit up!!!!

I weigh 9.63kg.

Dr Yip said that Im of a good weight and is weighing like a 1 year old girl!

Lizzie Goh, you are not underweight.

Im fat.
